THE PLAINS—The Tidewater Academy girls could not break the No. 2 ranked Wakefield School’s 18-game win streak as the Lady Warriors fell 62-38 in the semifinal round of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Division III State Basketball Tournament on Friday.

The Lady Warriors came into the game as the No. 6 seed with a 22-8 overall record. Wakefield was the No. 2 seed with a 24-6 record.

Leading for TA was senior Cary Beahm netting 28 points.
