Copeland-Casstevens

Amber Michelle Copeland and Chadwick Darrell Casstevens married June 23, 2012, at the home of Graham and Ann Copeland of Surry, with Scott Obenchain officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Peter and Vicky Copeland of Franklin. She is the granddaughter of Bob Edwards and the late Lois Edwards, and Graham and Ann Copeland.
The groom is the son of Homer and Shirley Casstevens of Mount Airy, N.C.
He is the grandson of Sarah Louise Creasy and the late Robert Creasy, and the late John and Inez Casstevens.
The bride graduated from Southampton High School in 2002, and Virginia Tech in 2006. She majored in human nutrition, food and exercise, with a minor in chemistry. She graduated from Appalachian College of Pharmacy in 2009 with a doctor of pharmacy degree, and is a pharmacist at Wal-Mart in Kernersville, N.C.
The groom graduated from Surry Central High School in 2002, and Pfeiffer University in 2006. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in social studies. He graduated from Appalachian School of Law in 2010 with a juris doctor degree, and is employed as an attorney at Casstevens and Casstevens Attorneys At Law in Dobson, N.C.
The bride wore a 1950s lace tea-length dress that was originally worn by Lois Edwards. The bodice was altered from a high neck and long sleeves to a sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves. She wore a birdcage veil for the ceremony and a white flower for the reception.
Her bouquet was made up of lilies, white roses and hot pink daisies.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
The maid of honor was a friend of the bride, Jenny Sears of Annapolis, Md. Bridesmaids were: Megan Everett of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Elizabeth Railey of Courtland, both friends of the bride; Tracie Hale of King, N.C., sister of the groom; and Kristen Obenchain of Blacksburg, cousin of the bride.
Junior bridesmaids were Nicole Copeland of Franklin and Nicole Obenchain of Blacksburg, both cousins of the bride; and Suzannah Hale of King, niece of the groom.
The best man was Homer Casstevens, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Patrick Casstevens of Mount Airy, twin brother of the groom; Landon Copeland of Franklin, brother of the bride; Rommel Hale, brother-in-law of the groom, and Benjamin Hale, nephew of the groom, both of King.
Junior groomsmen were Nathan Hale of King, nephew of the groom, and Christopher Copeland and James Copeland, both of Franklin, and both cousins of the bride.
Ushers were Neil Casstevens of Lincolnton, N.C., and Scott Blackburn of Mount Airy, both cousins of the groom, Keith Jordan of Dobson, Adam Stanley of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Jacob Wagoner of Yadkinville, N.C., friends of the groom.
Mistress of ceremonies was Carrie Fox of Franklin, cousin of the bride. Guest book attendant was Lyndsay Young of Franklin, friend of the bride. Program attendants were Dana Draughn and Emily Casstevens of Mt. Airy, cousins of the groom.
The reception was hosted by the bride’s parents. The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at The Virginia Diner in Wakefield.
A bridal luncheon was given by Carrie Fox, Pat Cobb, Elizabeth Railey, Lisa, Kristen and Nicole Obenchain at Simply Divine in Franklin on June 22.
A bridal shower was given by Jenny Sears at the home of the bride’s parents. The family of the groom gave another bridal shower.
For the honeymoon, the couple went to Key West, Fla.
They live in King.
