COURTLAND—Southampton High School senior goalie Nathan Johnson made 12 saves during a 5-4 loss to Windsor High School Monday.
The Dukes led 3-0 at halftime.
“We played as a totally different team in the second half,” said SHS Coach Scott Edwards. “We had good possession of the ball and created scoring chances.”
The Indians gave up three goals early in the first half on defensive mistakes.
“We got a very slow start and did not look very good,” Edwards said. “We allowed Windsor too many scoring chances in the match.”
Scoring for the Indians in the second half were senior forwards Alex Dunlow, Wally Le, and junior midfielder Kevin Watford, who each had a goal and an assist. Freshman Kendall Butler added a goal.
The Indians next travel to Windsor for a 7 p.m. match on Monday March 18, while the Dukes will host Southampton Academy at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, March 14.
