SA baseball team loses to Kenston Forest

COURTLAND—The Southampton Academy baseball team dropped a 2-1 game in extra innings to Kenston Forest Tuesday, to open Virginia Commonwealth Conference play.
Raider pitchers combined for a total of 14 strikeouts. Jacob Holland had 11 strikeouts in 6 innings, while Tonee Hill had three in 2 innings.
SA, 2-1, led off scoring in the 1st inning when Tonee Hill had a RBI double, to bring in Ethan Edwards, who was on 2nd base after being walked to start the inning.
The game remained 1-0 in favor of SA until the 6th inning, when Kenston Forest scored a run.
The Raiders had two errors in the 8th inning, allowing Kenston Forest to score their second and winning run.
SA will next travel to Richmond Christian School for a 4:30 p.m. game Thursday, March 21.
