EMPORIA—A fatal accident occurred Wednesday west of Route 615 on Highway 58 near the Valley Protein facility.

State police were called to the scene of a one-vehicle accident at approximately 11:44 a.m. A spokesperson for the Highway Patrol confirmed one fatality.

It has been reported the crash involved a truck belonging to TME Enterprises, a company the Virginia Department of Transportation contracts with.
