PETERSBURG—The Windsor High School soccer team suffered its first loss of the season in the Tri-Rivers District last Friday. They lost 5-4 in double overtime to Appomattox Regional Governors School.

The Dukes are now 4-1 in the district.

“We made the mistake of not coming out of the gate ready to play.” Said Windsor Coach JD Turner. “ARGS struck quick, and we were playing catch up, which is not our style at all. We gave up more goals tonight than we have in the last four district games combined.”

The Dragons jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Dukes fought back and had the match tied 3-3 at end of regulation. The two overtime periods saw two more goals by ARGS and one more by the Dukes.
