Indians Blank Bulldogs

COURTLAND—The Southampton Indians baseball team defeated the Brunswick Bulldogs 11-0 to earn their 15th win of the season. The Indians now have an 11-0 district record.

Southampton was propelled on the mound by senior Mason Wright who earned his third win of the season while striking out four in four innings. Hayden Spalding started the scoring in the bottom of the first with a homerun. Tanner Winters scored Wright on a ground out to the short stop. Jake Pope stole a base and scored on a fast ball.

The Indians added two runs in the bottom of the second off of two Brunswick throwing errors to put the Indians up 5-0. Winters and Josh Riddick started the rally in the third with a double and a single. Both runners scored on bases loaded walks. The Indians tallied four more in the bottom of the fourth to gain an 11-0 advantage. They tallied six hits and seven walks while the Bulldogs tallied three hits, one walk, and made three errors.
