Mary C. Smith

Mary C. Smith passed from this life to eternal rest Wednesday, July 3, 2013. She was born to the late William and Rebecca Coats June 22, 1938. She joined St. Paul United Church of Christ at a very early age and was the oldest life-long member. She met the love of her life, John A. Smith Sr., and united in Marriage on April 17, 1955.

Mary Louise is survived by her husband John A. Smith Sr., two daughters, Sandra D. Smith and Angela Smith, four sons, William A. Coats, Lafayette Smith, Eric Smith and John A. Smith, Jr. and his wife Teresa, 10 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, adopted daughter, Miracle Perry, three sisters, predeceased Lina Sloan, Carolyn Coats and Elder Barbara Tann, four sister in laws, one brother in law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and special friends, Mary Gainey and Ann Maddrey.

Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, July 8, 2013, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Hanson, Va. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery in Franklin, Va. The family will receive friends and family at 10305 Wildwood Dr. in Suffolk, Va. 23437 from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Arrangements are handled by Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home of Franklin, Va.
