COURTLAND—The Southampton County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Cecil Ennis at his Askew Street home on a charge of distributing heroin.

Det. Scott Griffith reported that during the arrest a search warrant was carried out and deputies “seized a substantial amount of heroin, a firearm and various other items indicative of drug distribution.”

Ennis, 37, was also wanted for two counts of probation violation. He’s been taken to Southampton County Jail and held without bond. Further charges are pending.
