Franklin business owner robbed

FRANKLIN—The owner of B&B Cleaners, 301 N. Franklin St., was robbed as she left her business Thursday, according to Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police.
Lynda Bond received minor injuries after a black man reportedly assaulted her during the robbery at approximately 6:50 p.m. The suspect then took a purse and a black tote bag, containing an undetermined amount of cash, and fled on foot toward Fourth Avenue.
The attacker is described as a black male in his 20s and was wearing shorts with a rag across his face. Bond was transported to Southampton Memorial Hospital for treatment.
