FRANKLIN—On Wednesday, Sept. 25, the area’s little league football teams will begin their season.

In week one, the early game at 7:05 p.m. will feature Holland Razorbacks and the Boykins Bulldogs. The 8:15 p.m. game will have the Franklin Mustangs facing the Courtland Indians.

On Oct. 2, the early game will feature the Windsor Knights and the Holland Razorbacks, while Franklin and Boykins faceoff in the late game.

On Oct. 9, Windsor will face Courtland in the early game, while Franklin will battle Holland in the late game.

On Oct. 16, Windsor High School will host the games. Holland will take on Courtland in the early game, while Windsor will battle Boykins in the late game.

Week five returns to Armory Field, as Courtland and Boykins face off in the early game, while Franklin and Winsor will play in the late game.

All early games start at 7:05 p.m., while the late games begin at 8:15 p.m. B teams featuring the younger players will play on half of the field at 6 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. With the exception of Week 4, all games will be at Armory Field in Franklin.

Playoffs will begin Oct. 30, as the second-place team faces the third-place team at 7:05 p.m. At 8:15, the first-place team will play the fourth-place team.

The championship game will be Nov. 6 at Armory field at 8:15, as the winners from the two playoff games face off.

The Boykins Bulldogs are the defending champions.

Franklin Mustangs coach Rob Carter said he is looking forward to a good season.

“Come out and support the kids,” he said. “These kids will eventually be high school kids. Look at the Franklin roster, and 90 percent come from our program. Been that way for the 30 years I’ve been doing this. A lot of kids on the Southampton High School team come from the Courtland and Boykins teams.”

Carter said the teams have been practicing since the middle of August.

“The kids have worked hard, and they are ready to play somebody,” he said. “It’s time for the season to start.”
