Mary Turner

FRANKLIN-Mary “Lucille” Turner, 96, of Franklin, VA passed away on December 1, 2013.  She was a native of Gloucester County and long-time member of Centenary United Methodist Church before moving to Franklin and transferring to High Street Methodist.  She was married to the late  George Leonard Turner, Sr. for 58 years. Lucille is survived by two sons, Edmond Turner (Chris in spirit) of Richmond and Lynn Turner (Elaine) of Franklin: two grandchildren, Heather Marshall (Todd) of Charlottesville, Jason Turner (Tiffany), of  Troutman, NC;  three great granddaughters, Cameron, Peyton and Blair Marshall and a great grandson, Tucker Turner.

She was an advocate for persons with disabilities and an Avon representative for over fifty years and considered a friend and confidant by many of her customers.

A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum 4569 Shoulders Hill Road Suffolk, VA 23435 by Rev John Ashley of Franklin and Rev. Dwight Smith of Richmond.  The family will be at Loving Funeral Home, Portsmouth, VA from 7-8 pm on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
