Local teams compete in tournaments

COURTLAND—Area teams were competing in conference tournaments this past week and weekend, and some have been seeded in regional and state tournaments.
The Southampton High School boys and girls both bowed out of their conference tournaments this past week, on Tuesday. The boys were defeated by Warhill 83-73, and the boys were defeated by Park View 62-31.
The Southampton Academy boys played Amelia Academy in the VCC semifinals on Friday, and lost 61-41.
The boys were in action Tuesday night against Broadwater Academy, and the game completed after deadline.
The SA girls defeated Kenston Forrest on Wednesday, and defeated them 39-27. In a close one on Friday for the VCC semifinals, they lost to Richmond Chirstian 38-34. The team finished the year 10-9.
The SA JV girls finished 9-1 and finished first in the conference and won the tournament.
The Tidewater Academy Warriors, also in the VCC semifinals, lost on Friday to Fuqua 59-48.
The Isle of Wight Academy boys lost to Williamsburg Christian 85-26 on Thursday.
On Thursday, the IW girls defeated defeated Denbigh Baptist Christian 38-19. They lost on Friday to Atlantic Shores Christian 44-32.
They played Norfolk Christian Tuesday night, and the game finished after deadline.
The Windsor boys team lost to Bruton last week by 59 points in the conference tournament.
Windsor boys played Prince Edwards in Farmville in the regional tournament Tuesday, and the game finished after deadline.
The Windsor girls finished their season against Maggie Walker on Tuesday, losing 34-44. They finished the season 3-15.
On Tuesday night, Franklin High School boys played Matthews High in a sweet 16 conference game, which finished after deadline.
The Franklin girls lost last Tuesday to Northampton 45-8.
