Cheri Marcella Matney, 65, passed away on Feb. 27, 2014. Mrs. Matney was born in Baltimore, Md.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Wayne F. Matney; and a daughter, Noell Matney Heath. She is also survived by her parents and two brothers.

Mrs. Matney served in the United States Navy Reserves. She was a government employee for 17 years. She also worked at Nansemond Suffolk Academy and Southampton Academy.

Mrs. Matney was an active member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. She loved to travel and visit new places.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight, Feb. 28, in R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel, 11414 General Mahone Hwy. Wakefield.

The funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, 37527 Seacock Chapel Road Zuni, VA 23898.
