Ledora L. Everett

SUFFOLK—Ledora Langston Everett, 89, of Suffolk, Va., departed this life on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Courtland Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Hardy Langston and Blanche Moore Langston of Holland. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Phillip H. Everett; their son, Aubrey L. Everett; five sisters, and five brothers.
At an early age, she was baptized and became a member of Palm Tree Baptist Church. Mrs. Everett served as the pastor’s aide, hospitality committee member and was one of the beloved mothers of the church.
She attended and earned her Bachelors in Education degree from Elizabeth City State University.
After graduating, she joined and became a lifetime member of Sigma Gamma Rho Inc.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted grandchildren, Aubrey Everett Jr. (Apryl) of Wilmington, Del; Phillip Everett (Angela) of Augusta, Maine; Mary Everett of Laurel, Md.; daughter-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral took place at 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, at Palm Tree Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Anthony Sommerville. Interment was in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
