Fishing for a good book? You can catch a great fish in the summer, but it’s also a great time to hook a good book. All kids are invited to come to a free book give-away on Friday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to noon. There are three locations to choose from: Blackwater Regional Library on Main Street in Courtland; College Drive in Franklin; Luter Family YMCA on James Street in Smithfield.

All children will get a free book. Also, children can bring books they have read to swap for a fresh read. Bringing books is not required, just an option. Other fun activities are planned along with the book give away. Come join us and dive into summer reading.

Sponsored by the Blackwater Regional Library, Franklin-Southampton Area United Way, and Smart Beginnings Western Tidewater in honor of Summer Learning Day.
