Overtime team wins league

FRANKLIN—In the Franklin Parks and Recreation Co-ed Adult Softball League, Overtime Sports Grill won the regular season championship with a 13-2 record.
The team earned the number one seed going into the post-season tournament.
Franklin Collision Center finished in second place with an 11-4 record.
Overtime Sports Grill and Franklin Collision Center received first-round byes going into the double elimination tournament.
In the first round of the tournament, the No. 5 seed David’s Market got a forfeit win over No. 4 Grey Fox.
In the other first round game, No. 3 Mudduck Express beat No. 6 seed State Farm Insurance 14-9.
In the second round of the winners’ bracket, top seeded Overtime Sports Grill knocked off fifth-seeded David’s Market 16-1.
In the second winner’s bracket game, second-seeded Franklin Collision Center scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to edge the third seed Mudduck Express 8-6.

Coach-Pitch
In Franklin Parks and Recreation Coach-Pitch action, the Wolfpack remained in first place with a 13-7 win over the Hustlers. The Wolfpack led 9-4 going into the fourth inning and held off the second place Hustlers.
In a heat re-scheduled game, the Hustlers scored 5 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to edge the Braves 16-15.
In other action, the Braves beat the Blasters 22-9. After being tied with the Blasters 7-7 going into the bottom of the second inning, the Braves exploded for 11 runs in the next two innings to win.

Junior League Baseball
In Junior Baseball action, after falling behind 9-1 after 1 ½ innings, Parker Oil scored 10 runs in the bottom of the second inning to lead 11-9. In the first inning, Lamba Nu’s Bruce Bryant and Raquan Parker hit back-to-back home runs, and later in the inning, back-to-back hits.
In the fourth inning, a hit by Jaquan Walton and another home run by Parker tied the game at 13-13. Two walks and hits by Masco Barrett and Shuntrel McNear got the win for Parker Oil.
Lynn Lawson was the winning pitcher, and Raquan Parker took the loss.
