FRANKLIN—When a Franklin resident returned from lunch at a downtown restaurant on Wednesday, he saw that his front passenger seat window had been broken out, said Sioux Johnson, media relations spokeswoman for the Franklin Police Department.
Inside, he saw that his .25 caliber pistol, which had been placed in plain view on the front passenger seat, was missing. He reported the theft, which happened near the 100 Block of S. Main Street, to the police department.
The Franklin Police Department would like to remind firearm owners to keep guns locked away and out of plain sight. When leaving guns in your vehicle, lock firearms in your glove compartment or trunk to avoid becoming a victim of theft.
