FRANKLIN—Mamie Taylor Smith Craft, 85, passed away on July 11, 2014.
She was born in North Carolina to the late Mary Robeson and Daniel Russell Taylor, and was predeceased by an infant son, Dennis Wayne Smith, and her brother, Herbert Taylor.
Mamie was a member of Tar Heel Baptist Church, and a former member of Sycamore Baptist Church.
She had retired as a paper tester from the Quality Control Department of Union Camp Corporation.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Suzette Craun, and her husband, Steve, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and Anne Copenhaver and her husband, Cope, of Newport News; two sons, Bobby Smith, and his wife, Sandy, of Newsoms, and David Smith and his wife, Robin, of Sunset Harbor, North Carolina; one sister, Elizabeth Rhodes, of Boulder, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Matt Craun and wife, Erika; Wade Watson and wife, Melody; Jamie Watson; Michelle Tomlin and husband, Michael; Caleb Smith and wife, Marie; Kirby Smith; Josh Tingler and wife, Samantha; Robbie Hamm; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Donations can be made to Interim Healthcare (hospice) in Virginia Beach.
The memorial service will take place in Wright Funeral Home on Friday, July 18, at 2 p.m. and in Tar Heel, North Carolina at a later date.
