WOW, in two and a half weeks the best party in Southampton County will start. Yes, I am talking about the Franklin-Southampton County Fair.

The board members and the committee chairpersons are busy making last minute adjustments and getting everything ready for all of you our fantastic guest to come out and have some good old fashion fun. There will be great entertainment for the entire family.

The kids with the 4-H program are gearing up to show how hard they have worked raising their livestock for the annual 4-H show. Please plan to attend one of the excellent shows to support all the great kids that participate in our local 4-H program, these are our future farmers and being in a rural community we all know it takes a lot of commitment from these kids.

Every night is packed full of fun things to do and see for the entire family.

Wednesday night will be our annual Little Miss and Miss Southampton county fair queen contest.

Thursday night is our annual talent show. I had the privilege to attend the preliminaries and let me tell you we have some talented folk’s right here in Southampton County so make sure you come out to enjoy some local talent. Then stick around for 7 Bridges. If you love the Eagles you will love 7 Bridges. Friday on our main stage will be Kevin Mac and Tyler Farr. On Saturday we have activities planned all day starting with the corn hole tournament, Livestock shows, children’s events, ATV mud bog and so much more. We will round out four fabulous days with our main stage entertainment featuring Chris Lane and Chase Rice.

So bring your friends, family and lawn chairs and sits back and enjoy the 34th annual Franklin-Southampton County Fair. See you there!
