Lady Chargers volleyball team fights hard in loss

ISLE OF WIGHT—Down 2 games to 0 in the best of 5 series, the Lady Chargers volleyball team made a run at the Cavaliers of Stonebridge School, but ultimately ran out of gas and lost the third game 25-22.
Playing at home on Tuesday, the Lady Chargers opened the third game on fire with a 4-0 lead early in the game. As play progressed the Lady Chargers at midway during the game continued to hold on top 14-11. The scoring continued with ties at 14-, 15-, and 16-all. The Cavaliers edged ahead for the first time in the final match with a score of 17-16. At that point the visitors held onto the lead to finish with a 25-22 win.
Lady Charger head coach Jessica Brock commented after the game, “I thought that they played well. The Cavaliers are undefeated for the year. I was pleased with the way our girls played.”
When asked about the comeback of the Cavaliers, Brock said that, “we continue to fall flat at times, and we need to learn to play through that and pick ourselves up and not let ourselves get down.”
In the first game, the Chargers kept it close up to 22–21, before the Cavaliers closed the door for a 25-21 win.
In the second game the home team went neck and neck in scoring and tied the game at 21-all. They even took the lead at 24-22 and had several opportunities to take a win but could not capitalize on it. The score was tied at 24- and 25-all before the Lady Cavaliers ultimately took the win with a score of 27-25.
The Lady Chargers are now 2-3 for the season in the conference and also overall.
