SEDLEY—Jack W. Hundley, 83, of Rosemont Road, Sedley, died on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014.

Mr. Hundley was born in Southampton County on March 12, 1931. He was a member of Grace Memorial United Methodist Church in Sedley, a retired supervisor at Union Camp for 42 years, and a Mason of the Courtland Lodge for over 50 years, and an honorary member of the Sedley Ruritan Club.

Mr. Hundley contributed to getting the Sedley Volunteer Fire Department started and was an honorary member. He served as a trustee for Grace Memorial United Methodist Church, trustee of Rosemont Cemetery in Sedley and a member of Bronco Rod and Gun Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, T.F. Hundley and Laura R. Hundley; his wife, Mary Jo Hundley, and his son Thomas Franklin Hundley II; his brothers, Thomas Rainey Hundley and Frank Babcock Hundley; and his sisters, Frances Hundley Gillette and Edna Hundley Simmons.

He is survived by his daughter, Diana W. Hundley; granddaughter, Maryanna F. Hundley of Courtland; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Rita Kanten officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery. A reception will follow at Grace Memorial United Methodist Church fellowship hall. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and suggests memorial contributions be made to Rosemont Cemetery Maintenance Fund in c/o Mildred Branche, 32306 Vicksville Rd. Franklin, VA, 23851.
