Susan C. Hedgepeth

COMO, N.C.—Susan Crosno Hedgepeth, 65, passed away on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, at Sentara Obici Hospital.
Born in San Bernardino, California, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Helen Thompson Crosno.
Susan was the former captain of the Como Rescue Squad with over 25 years of service. She was a member of Buckhorn Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 49 years, Hurley G. Hedgepeth Jr.; three sons, Bill, David and Phillip Hedgepeth, all of Como; two sisters, Phyllis Archer of Gates County, North Carolina, and Dolly Anderson of Morehead City, North Carolina; a brother, Robert Harvest of Morehead City, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Tiffany, Shannon, Whitney, Dalton and Drake; and one great-grandchild, Aubree.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 8, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. John Ashley and the Rev. Jan Dickens officiating. Burial will follow in Buckhorn Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home, and suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Kathy Worrell, 717 Fairview Dr., Franklin, VA 23851.
