The Southampton Board of Supervisors recently addressed a replacement for the county zoning board and reappointments to the Industrial Development Authority.

Board member Bruce Phillips recommended Capron Mayor William “Nick” Kitchen to replace Marie Sykes on the county’s Board of Zoning Appeals, after she resigned on Oct. 31. Sykes was one of seven members appointed by the Circuit Court to hear and decide appeals related to administration and enforcement of the zoning ordinance, consider applications for variances, as well as hear and decide appeals regarding zoning boundaries.

The board is set to address a reappointment to the Industrial Development Authority at their next meeting later this month.
