FRANKLIN
On Friday night, the Windsor Lady Dukes took to the road and dominated the Lady Broncos of Franklin, 68-17, in a TriRivers District basketball game.

Head Coach Sherry Ashburn said the Dukes only turned the ball over three times in the effort.

“These young ladies continue to work hard,” she said.

Vonquisha Turner led the team in scoring with 20 points, though Andrea Magba and Bridgette Walton were just behind them with 19 each.

Ashburn said the lead allowed some of her players off the bench to get some valuable game time. However, one thing they’d need to work on was hitting free throws.

On Monday night, the Lady Dukes lost to the Surry Lady Cougars 80-60.

Windsor is 4-1 on the season and will play the Greensville Lady Eagles at WHS today at 5:30 p.m.
