At about noon on Wednesday, the Franklin High School Broncos boys basketball team hit a lull in the day when they found out that the backyard rivalry had been postponed due to the ice.
That said, Head Coach Robby Cutchins said they will be absolutely pumped and ready to go on Tuesday, Jan. 20, when they get on the bus to make the short trip down Route 58 to play the Southampton High School Indians.
“This is a game as players and coaches you circle on your calendar once the schedule comes out,” he said. “It’s just a great atmosphere to play in for the players. It’s a rivalry that dates back many years. It’s a game that I always looked forward to as a player, and I look forward to it just as much now for these young men putting on a Broncos jersey!”
Cutchins said the team has been breaking down the film on Southampton and will be ready with a game plan.
Tip off is at the Southampton High School Gym at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Indians Head Coach Sharone Bailey coould not be reached for comment.
