NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Community Development Block Grant Funding

The Board of Supervisors of Southampton County will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 7:00pm, or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the Board Room of the Southampton County Office Center at 26022 Administration Center Drive in Courtland, Virginia to solicit public input on a proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) proposal to be submitted to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development for the Newsoms Town Housing Rehab and Storm Drainage Project. Residents of the project area and all other interested citizens are encouraged to attend.

The draft CDBG proposal will be presented for comment along with information on projected beneficiaries, including the number of low- and moderate-income residents to benefit from the proposed project, and plans to minimize displacement. Citizens will also be given the opportunity to comment on the County’s past use of CDBG funds. A fact sheet on the proposed project and the draft proposal will be available at the meeting.
