FRANKLIN
Windsor High School’s Alec Kiser struck out 12 batters in five innings of work, two-hitting the Franklin High School Broncos on Tuesday in a 17-1 TriRivers District victory. He did not walk a batter or allow an earned run, and 10 of those strikeouts came on five pitches or fewer.

“Alec did an excellent job on the mound for us tonight,” said Windsor head coach Robert Hedrick. “He was nearly flawless.”

Meanwhile, Jawun Walton was on the bump for Franklin, and he had 10 walks in the game. The defense behind him also had six errors, five of which came in Windsor’s 11-run first inning.

Rashad Wilkerson got both hits for Franklin, a double and a single. He also scored the lone run on an error. He only stepped into the batter’s box twice, as Kiser forced the Broncos to go three up, three down in the three innings Wilkerson didn’t appear.

Windsor’s Hunter Williams scored three runs and had 2 RBIs. He was 2 for 2 at the plate and walked two times. Trevor Kiser had 3 RBIs on a single and a double.

Lance Sexton also had an RBI single to get things going in the first inning. He scored three runs in the game, reaching base on two hits, an error and a walk.

Gregory Ashburn had two RBIs on a single and a double. He was 2 for 3 at the plate, drawing two walks and scoring both times.

Alec Kiser was also robbed of a home run, when an umpire called back a ball that dinged the foul pole.

The Broncos (0-6) will next travel to Emporia to face Greensville County High School on Tuesday. The Dukes (4-3) will also be on the road on Tuesday, playing Sussex High School.

First pitch for both games is at 4:30 p.m.
