Texie Williams Wilkerson

BOYKINS—Mrs. Texie W. Wilkerson, 76, slipped into eternal slumber on Monday, June 15, 2015, at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Virginia.
Texie was born on Feb. 15, 1939, in Boykins, the seventh of 10 children to the late Mack Williams and Virgie Davis Williams.
She leaves not to mourn her passing, but to cherish many sweet memories six children, Eugene L. Wilkerson Jr. (Diane) of Franklin, Virginia; Betty Wilkerson and Calvin Wilkerson, both of the home; Mack Wilkerson (Holly) of Suffolk; Lynn Wilkerson (Angela) of Franklin; and Edward Wilkerson (Lori) of Hyattsville, Maryland; three siblings: Catherine Austin of Courtland, Virginia; Addie Powell of Chesapeake, Virginia; and Wilroy Williams of Boykins; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Faison’s Funeral Home Inc. 301 Park St., Seaboard, North Carolina, has been entrusted with arrangements, where Mrs. Wilkerson will lie in repose from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, June 19.
The homegoing service honoring her life, love and spirit, will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Boykins, with the Rev. Jeremiah Cole, delivering words of comfort. She will be laid to rest in the Mount Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery, Newsoms, Virginia.
Mrs. Wilkerson will lie in state for one hour prior to the service at the church.
