BOYKINS

A probation officer conducting a residential check of an offender on Thursday afternoon revealed a one-pot methamphetamine apparatus inside a Boykins Manor mobile home.

Detective Camden Cobb of the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office said that a conversation between the officer and homeowner led the former to believe that there were narcotics inside the residence on Tuckers Drive. The Sheriff’s Office was contacted shortly thereafter.

Deputies requested permission to conduct a search of the home and the homeowner granted consent. Once inside, deputies found a “shake and bake” meth cooking operation.

A search warrant was obtained and other agencies, such as the Drug Enforcement Administration and Virginia State Police, were contacted to assist in the search. The parolee was not home at the time of the search, no charges have been filed and no arrest has been made at this time. The matter is under investigation at this time, and more information will be shared when made available.
