FRANKLIN
Western Tidewater remains under a winter weather advisory through midnight, according to the National Weather Service in Wakefield. With near steady temperatures around 30, snow accumulation is forecasted today at approximately one inch. But winds will be 20-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

Travel remains affected, and the Virginia Department of Transportation advises people to stay off the roads. Crews have been out on the major roads when the storm — reportedly dubbed Jonas — began on Friday.

Snow is again likely this evening, with an accumulation of up to 2 inches. Lows will be in the lower 20s. Winds will remain 15-25 mph with gusts still at 40 mph, but dropping to 10-15 mph and 25 mph gusts after might. Chance of snow decreases to 60 percent.

Clearing and sunny skies are anticipated for Sunday with highs in the mid-30s and winds 5-10 mph. Remaining mostly clear tomorrow night, highs will be in the 20s.
