IVOR — Linda Carol Dickerson Raiford, 71, widow of Walter Henderson Raiford Jr., passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Feb. 6, 2016.

She was a daughter of the late Richard Moss and Emily Thornton Dickerson, and was a member of Corinth Friends Meeting.

Mrs. Raiford was a graduate of Southampton High School where she was a former Homecoming Queen. She was also on the court of the Azalea Festival and attended Pan America Business School. She was a former employee of H.P. Beale and Son, Smith Jewelers and Nottoway House. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and walking around the family farm with her grandson, Josh.

Survivors include her daughter, Christina Raiford Wilson (Don); three sisters, Betty Edwards (Lynn), Peggy Bass (Charlie) and Jeannie Fuller (Jimmy); three grandchildren, Joshua Raiford Wilson, Christopher Wilson and Dylan Wilson; three great-grandchildren, Alanna Wilson, Tristan Wilson and Connor Wilson; many nieces and nephews; special family member, Sherry Carr; lifelong friend, Lucy Doles; caregivers, Betty Ruffin, Dee Cooper and April Artis; and her beloved pet, Smokey.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with Pastor Mandy Smith and Chaplain Sara Snow. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. in the funeral home, and other times at Linda’s house.
