CAPRON — Willie Thomas “W.T.” Bryant, 84, passed away on Feb. 6, 2016.

Born in Southampton County, he was a son of the late Felix and Rosa Hill Bryant, and was a lifelong farmer.

W.T. was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Newsoms Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Vick Bryant; his daughter, LouAnne B. Hopkins of Franklin; his granddaughter, Rachael V. Hopkins; and a sister, Ann B. Jordan.

W.T. was predeceased by his siblings, Inez Worrell, Hazel Jenkins, George Bryant, Harry Bryant, Steven Bryant and Maude Bryant; his son-in-law, Bill Hopkins; a special friend, Jodie Bynum; and two special caregivers, Roxanna Walton and Dorothy Branch.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Armand Jalbert and the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and suggests memorial donations be made to Southampton Academy or a favorite charity.
