FRANKLIN — Joseph H. Stutts, 82, died on Feb. 23, 2016.

He is survived by his devoted and beloved wife, Nancy; and children, Sheriff John “Jack” Stutts (Alice), R. Lawrence Stutts (Ann), Sherwood Dixon (Steve) and Douglas Stutts; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a sergeant of infantry in the Korean Campaign. After graduating from Randolph-Macon College and following 10 years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, he was for almost 30 years manager of Community Relations for Union Camp Corporation at Franklin, with responsibilities in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

The service will be at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Franklin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Rector’s Discretionary Fund, Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 400 N. High St., Franklin, VA 23851.
