FRANKLIN
The Southeastern Virginia Health System’s new community health center opened on Monday in Franklin. The center offers primary care services.
“Everyone should have access to affordable, quality health care,” CEO of Southeastern Virginia Health System Angela Futrell said. “Franklin Community Health Center will make that possible. Healthcare will be available to all insured, uninsured and underinsured.”
Currently, the center has one physician, but over the next year they are hoping to up that number to at least three.
There is also someone on site that does case management and someone who does lab work.
On Monday, the first day they were open, they saw patients and they also already have appointments scheduled throughout the rest of the week.
The entire center is not complete yet, but will be by June.
The location of the health center is 1357 Armory Drive, Franklin, and the hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
