Mr. Christopher Roy Picot remembered: “He fought a good fight, he kept the Faith.” On Friday, March 18, 2016, Mr. Christopher Roy Picot departed this life quietly at his residence. On December 27, 1956, he was born to the late Roy Picot, Jr and Mable Myrick Picot. Chris was educated in the Franklin City Public Schools. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1977.
At an early age he became a member of Pulaski Baptist Church, Carrsville, Va. Later he began worshipping with Scott’s Revival Center with his family. During his life he touched many lives throughout his community.
He had a special love for his family, especially his six nephews, Mike, Myron, Marcus, LaRon, M.D. and Bre, he loved those guys. He constantly spoke about them and was concerned for their well-being, wanting nothing but the very best for each one of them. Chris leaves to cherish his many precious memory, two brothers, Victor and Forrest Picot of Franklin, Va., three sisters, Mable Eley (Glenwood) of Atlanta, Ga., Jaqueline Picot-Griffey and Evelyn Barr (Anthony) of Franklin, Va. He was blessed to have four other siblings, Gerome Powell of Peoria, Arizona and Lorenzo Barnes (Coreena) of Richmond, Va., Gail Giles (Willie) of Franklin, Va., and Debra Jean Futrell of Suffolk, Va. Ten nephews, Michael Chatman (Dale), Myron Picot, Marcus Picot, LaRon Duck (Charity), Morris Duck, Jr. (Quasha), Breon`Tae Ophelia, Lamont Smith, Nathaniel Pittman, Lorenzo Barnes Jr., and LoRon Barnes, three nieces, Nichole Smith, Shavon Ruffin, and LaQuita Barnes, eleven great-nephews, twelve great-nieces, and a special brother-in-law, Morris Duck, Sr., and special brother, Wayne Keith Hart. Along with his family were special friends: Edna Hobbs, Kamarie Hicks, Rose and Lynal Scott, Mrs. Janice Freeman, Cecilia Jones, Brenda Reid Aldumini, Sis. Ella Everette, Michelle Freeman, Annette Hunter, Anthony “Pop Charlie” Grant, Guy Freeman, Carol Moore, Latasha Manley, Marquetta Reid, Ebony Picot, Linda Evans, Cheryl aEdmonds and his faithful Walmart friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Kingdom Community Church, 1538 Carrsville Hwy FRANKLIN, VA 23851. Engram Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
