FRANKLIN
City Manager Randy Martin on Monday provided an updated budget proposal and adoption schedule to the Franklin City Council at their meeting.

The proposed budget, as it does every year, consists of funding the payroll for the city personnel, and improvement projects for city infrastructure such as streets, school buildings, and wastewater systems.

City Council will have a budget workshop on June 8, in which necessary adjustments and addendums will be made and the budget will reach its final balance.

A public hearing of the budget will follow on June 13 at 7 p.m. at City Hall. All citizens of Franklin are encouraged to attend. After the public hearing, there is a final meeting tentatively scheduled for June 20 for the budget to be formally adopted. The council must adopt the budget before July 1.
