Andrew E. Sipiczky

COURTLAND — Andrew Edward Sipiczky passed away on June 4, 2016, IN the East Pavilion at the age of 85.

He was born on March 11, 1931 in Southampton County to the late Andrew Sipiczky and Magdalene Laslo Sipiczky Batta.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 59 years, Joyce Gray Sipiczky; a sister, Mary S. Johnson (“Bud” Williamson); a brother, Robert P. Sipiczky (Nancy); a half-brother, Daniel Batta Jr. (Becky); brother-in-law, Roy L. Gray Jr.; sister-in-law, Phyllis G. Blythe (David C. Blythe Jr.); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many special friends.

Andy was a 1949 graduate of Courtland High School and was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church. He served in the Army for two years and was stationed in Austria for over one year. He was employed at Pittman Wood and Metal Products until the business closed. He then worked at the Particle Board Plant at Union Camp in maintenance until he retired in 1997 after more than 25 years of service.

He was a member of the Bronco Rod and Gun Club, Southampton Forestry and Agriculture Museum, and a lifetime member of the NRA.

The memorial service will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Andrew Book officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be private.
