The Cover 3 Foundation is now accepting applications for the after-school portion of C3’s Kid’s Meals.

The foundation is approaching the eighth year as a sponsor of the Virginia Department of Health Child and Adult Care food Program. As a returning sponsor, the meals they provide will continue to give thousands of after-school suppers and snacks to children in the program.

“In 2010, Cover 3 Foundation implemented the C3’s Kid’s Meal Program,” Greg Scott, Cover 3 Foundation CEO said. “This program exists to provide nutritious snacks and meals to all children in after-school program, summer feeding sites and while school is out during the year throughout Southampton County, Greensville County, Sussex County, Hampton Roads, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk, Emporia, Petersburg and Franklin.

“This year Cover 3 Foundation will also serve sites throughout Henrico County and Surry County. To date, this is Cover 3 Foundation’s largest program, reaching well over 3,000 children everyday,” he added.

Qualifications for the program and application instructions can be found at www.cover3foundation.org or by calling the foundations headquarters at 562-2252. The deadline for applications for sites wanting to begin feeding in October is Friday, Sept. 16, at noon.
