Cedric Blake ‘Butch’ Bryant Sr.

COURTLAND — Cedric Blake “Butch” Bryant Sr., 64, passed away on March 18, 2017, in Courtland Healthcare Center.
He was born on Jan. 17, 1953, in Franklin, and was the son of the late Beckwith and Betty Sue Thompson Bryant. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Roger and Lila Bryant of Conway, North Carolina.
Butch was employed by International Paper for 37 years as an electrician and safety coordinator. He was a former union president.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Spencer Bryant; a daughter, Denise Bryant Fleetwood of Conway; a son, Blake Bryant (Crystal) of Swansboro, North Carolina; the mother of his children, Audrey Nicholson of Conway; two half-sisters, Becky Bryant of Battleboro, North Carolina; and Sarah Bryant, of Whitakers, North Carolina; Faye’s son, Jeffery Miles of Raleigh, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Christian and Erica Fleetwood of Conway; Chance Bryant of Elizabethtown, North Carolina; and Nik Harris of Swansboro, North Carolina; two aunts, Clara T. Gillette and Rebecca T. Delbridge; an uncle, Dana Thompson; many dear friends; and his beloved pets, Dutchess, Chelsea, “Sweet Pea,” Paws, Patches and Bull.
The memorial service will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, Virginia, with Pastor Sammy Moore officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Butch’s memory to the American Heart Association, or any Humane Society or pet shelter.
