Sealed bids in duplicate will be received by the City of Franklin, Virginia at the Office of the Director of Finance in City Hall located at 207 W. Second Ave., Franklin, Virginia until 2:00 p.m. local time on June 15^th, 2017 and then at said location will be publicly opened and read aloud.

 

Work consists of relining approx. 2,000 LF of 48 public and private sanitary sewer laterals, installation of 500 LF of 8” water lines, lining of 2,400 LF of 12”-15” storm drainage lines, 8,700 SY of street paving, and 520 LF of curb and gutter replacement.

 

A mandatory pre bid conference will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 5^th, 2017 at the Department of Public Works, 1050 Pretlow St., Franklin VA 23851.

 

Contract documents including Instructions for Bidders, drawings, and specifications may be obtained from Prism Contractors & Engineers, Inc. by contacting John Rynders II at jrynders@prismce.com.  Only digital copies will be provided for this project.  Bids must be accompanied by a bid guarantee as specified in the Instructions for Bidders.  Qualifications of bidders will be required as detailed in the Instructions for Bidders; Bidders must have proper license in the Commonwealth of Virginia per the Code of Virginia, Title 54.1, Chapter 11.

 

Withdrawal of bids due to error shall be according to Section 2.2-4330.B.2 of the Virginia Public Procurement Act.

 

The City of Franklin, Virginia, reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any and all informalities therein, and the award shall, if made, be made to the lowest responsive responsible bidder, or bidders, taking into consideration the quality of materials, labor, and equipment.

 

This is a federally assisted project.  Bidders and contractors performing work under this advertisement are bound by the requirements outlined in the Instructions for Bidders.
