FRANKLIN — Roy Russell, 79, passed away on June 29, 2017, after a long battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ruby Russell; and three brothers, Guy, Ralph and Frank Russell.

Roy retired from the Navy and Surry Power Station.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Judith Russell; two sons, Michael Russell (Denise) and Jeffrey Russell (Jeannine); three sisters, Linda, Mildred and Nora; eight grandchildren, Kayla, Kacie, Daniel, Holly, Samuel, Brandon, Christopher and Jocelyn.

The memorial service with military honors will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, in Suffolk Church of Christ, 2025 Holland Road, Suffolk.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hunterdale Volunteer Fire and Rescue or the Cancer Research Fund.
