COURTLAND
Southampton County deputies responded to the 25000 block of Shady Brook Trail in Courtland early Wednesday morning to investigate the report of a commercial burglary at the D.W. Miller Construction Company. This information comes from Maj. Gene Drewery, spokesman for the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Drewery, the Sheriff’s Office received the report at approximately 5:35 a.m. Deputies later learned that a white Ford F250 pickup truck, a generator and two chop saws had been taken from the business. A separate business in the same area had a large steam pressure washer and TV stolen also.

This is an ongoing investigation. The Sheriff’s Office will release additional details as they develop. Anyone with information regarding either crime is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 653-2100.
