Louise Pittman

IVOR — Louise Pittman passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, in her home surrounded by her family.
Born on Jan. 12, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas Felts and Lillie Joyner Felts. Mrs. Pittman was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She produced and directed a local production of “Hee Haw” that was a fundraiser for Ivor Rescue Squad for 15 years. She was a charter member the Ivor Rescue Squad, and had served as a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Pittman was a member of Ivor Baptist Church.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Pittman, siblings, Julian Felts, Clifton Felts, James Felts, Elsie White and Nannie Council; and a son-in-law, Conley Whisenant.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 71 years, Luster H. “Smokey” Pittman; son, Thomas H. Pittman and wife, Kay; daughters, JoAnne Whisenant and Lou Ann Darden and husband, Rudy; grandchildren, Kevin Pittman, Stephen Pitman, Sandra Stacy, Jaime Power, Joshua Whisenant, Dana Howell, Neil Unroe and Erin Adcock; siblings, Dorothy Wade, Frances Lassiter, Betty Jo Abernathy, and Bobby Felts, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 29, in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel, from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, in the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Ivor Cemetery.
