George Morris Duck, 68, passed away on Aug.15, 2017.
George was born in Franklin, and was a son of the late Morris Randolph and Lorraine Carr Duck.
He was a member of Colosse Baptist Church, a 1969 graduate of Windsor High School and an Army veteran.
George had retired from International Paper after being a millwright in the Maintenance Department. After his retirement, he was a driver for NAPA.
George enjoyed hunting, fishing and carpentry and loved all kinds of music from beach to soul.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Ann Blythe Duck; two daughters, Shannon D. Rose and husband, Brent; and Brandi D. Gray and husband, Jason; one brother, Jerry Duck and husband, Hugh Copeland; two grandchildren, Avery Alyssa Rose and Brantley Carr Gray; two aunts, Helen Holland and Glenda Carr; special cousins, Norma Padgett and Judy Brown; very special friends, Jerry and Ellen Butler; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with Rev. Tim Webb officiating.
The family will receive friends at the residence and suggests that memorial donations in George’s memory be made to the Nightingale Air Ambulance or Sentara Heart Hospital both of Norfolk.
