To the Editor:

I’ve been out of town a while and am just now catching up on my reading. I think the article in the Sept. 17 issue by the Rev. Darnell Whitfield titled “Basic training” (Page A5) is excellent.

It should be widely disseminated and read by every parent or guardian. The Rev. Whitfield put his finger right on the cause of much of today’s societal problems.
