FRANKLIN
It didn’t seem that long ago when the newspaper announced the date of the Candlelight Christmas Tour, and now — already — there’s only 30 days left.
The event will feature five homes in Franklin on Sunday, Dec. 10, from 4 to 8:30 p.m. The following people will participate: Betsy Brantley at 412 Meadow Lane; Chuck Gatten at 220 Meadow Lane; Ray and Linda Smith at 217 Meadow Lane; Bob and Beth Luck at The Village at Woods Edge, 104 Village Drive; and David and tour chairwoman Patti Rabil on 125 Crescent Drive.
This event is being presented by the Franklin Garden Club, which is a member of the Garden Club of Virginia.
“Profits from ticket sales will sponsor garden club projects throughout our community, such as the spring garden tour in 2019, the wreath-making workshops, door decorations and conservation,” Rabil said. Part of the money also goes to Richmond for preservation and conservation of historic homes and gardens as well as state parks throughout Virginia
The Village will provide refreshments from 5 to 8:30 p.m, which includes a complimentary glass of wine with each ticket.
Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 the day of the tour in St. Jude Catholic Church, 1014 Clay St. These are still available through Dec. 9 at the following community merchants: Alphabet Soup, Cat’s Meow, the Downtown Franklin Association, the Franklin-Southampton Chamber of Commerce, Fred’s Restaurant (only site for credit card ticket sales) and the Peanut Patch Shoppe in Courtland.
Satellite parking with shuttle service is required for the three homes on Meadow Lane, and this will be available at the church after first checking in at the vestibule.
