FRANKLIN
Franklin City Public School students, faculty and staff are getting what they might think of as an early Christmas present this year.

During the work session on Thursday, the school board made an adjustment to its calendar and moved for an early dismissal for its winter vacation.

Kelvin Edwards, assistant superintendent, told The Tidewater News that Friday, Dec. 15, will be the last full day of classes rather than Tuesday, Nov. 19.

Everyone will return to learning on Wednesday, Jan. 3,  2018.
