Mr. Willie Roscoe Joyner Sr., 96, affectionately known as “Baby,” passed on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018.

He was born on Dec. 18, 1921, to the late Joe Herbert Joyner and Betty Florence Boone Joyner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lona Claud Joyner; son, Willie Joyner Jr.; a daughter who he raised, Lillian Wynn; brothers, John Arthur, Joe Hoover, Robert Earl, Henry and Richard; sisters, Mary, Daisy, Lillie, Betty, Florence and Rosa.
Mr. Joyner is survived by his devoted sons, Elton Joyner Sr. (Iris), Alpha Joyner (Lorie), Kimbel Joyner (Godenia) and Roy Joyner (Harriet); grandchildren, Shatrice, Jermahl (Katiya), Elton Jr., Lonnell (Donna), Nicole, Dwayne (Terrie), Corey (Tanisha), Lafonia, Janelle, Willie III and Jessica; one step-grandchild; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; sister, Maude Joyner of Drewryville; brother-in-law, Lythe Newsome; sister-in-law, Irene Joyner; a devoted goddaughter, Theresa Turner; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A special thank you is extended to his nephews, Robert Jr. and William; nieces, Nan, Carolyn and Marjorie; cousin, Wink; and his caregivers, Lulu and Sam.
The service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, in Shiloh Baptist Church, 30188 Shiloh Road, Boykins, by the Rev. Lillie Faison, pastor, and the Rev. John Faison, eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be from noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, in Engram Funeral Home Inc., 1001 Armory Drive, Franklin.
