Winter made itself known late Monday afternoon with snow, which lasted several hours. The hazardous road conditions this created has given Southampton and Isle of Wight county public schools reason to cancel classes today, March 13. At Isle of Wight, though, all 12-month personnel were scheduled report on a two-hour delay.

All Franklin City Public Schools and offices will be operating on a two-hour delay for all students and staff. Parents are urged monitor the website (www.fcpsva.org) and social media pages for any updates.

Southampton and Isle of Wight academies will also be closed today.

Southampton County Circuit Court has also announced it will be closed today, according to Lt. Camden Cobb, a spokesman for the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office.
